20050126 Joint Area K1 and Area K4 Second Round Club Officer Training

Area K1 and Area K4 staged their Joint Club Officer Training on 26 January 2005 at the Kinabalu College, commencing at 7.30pm. The clubs represented at the COT were KKTMC, Pidato Pertama, University, Penampang, SWEPA, IEM Sabah, SBO, Api-Api and KK Advanced. The clubs absent were SriKom and MIA Sabah.

The speakers at the COT were Area K1 Governor Yee That Hian, Area K4 Governor Alice Kunjan, Asst Area K4 Gov Education and Training Amran Aliamat, Asst Area K4 Gov Marketing Jennifer Chong, and Division K Governor Richard A. Gontusan. The TME was Phyllis Quek from SWEPA.

Amran talked about the roles and responsibilities of the President, VPE and VPM. Jennifer continued with the roles and responsibilities of the VPPR, Secretary, Treasurer and SAA.

Alice touched on Club’s Mission, DCP Goals, Administration and Reports and Meetings; while Yee expounded on “Working in a Team Environment – The Success Leadership Series.”

Richard highlighted the numbers generated by the Division K with respect to its mission and vision for the term. He talked with concern about the DCP achievement of the Division to date in relation to the achievements of the other Divisions in District 51, in particular the 2 CTMs registered by Division K compared to the 33 CTMs registered by Division C to date. He outlined measures, as proposed by the LGET Low Yat Seow in his email to the club officers, to improve the numbers. Nevertheless, Richard expressed his confidence that the members were on their way to completing their educational goals, which should improve the numbers generated to date.

The COT ended at 10.45pm. It was a success, thanks largely to the efforts of the Area K1 and Area K4 Governors and their members.
