Gerald Green, DTM visits the
Kota Kinabalu Toastmasters Club
- 23 November 2004

Gerald Green, the person responsible for bringing Toastmasters to Malaysia, paid a rare and surprising visit to the Kota Kinabalu Toastmasters Club on 23 November 2004, which coincided with the Club's Hari Raya Theme Meeting. Toastmasters who attended the meeting received a bonus with his presence as the General Evaluator.

The Toastmaster of the Evening, Abu Bakar Sheriff, DTM, created the Raya mood for everyone with Raya music, salam-salaman and maaf-maafan, and Raya goodies. 30 Toastmasters and guests attended the auspicious event.

Five Toastmasters had the opportunity to deliver their speeches before the distinguished guest. They had their speeches further evaluated by Gerald Green himself. That was indeed a rare opportunity for Stanley Joibi, CTM, Sylvia Maten, CTM, TM Liew Hon Min, Jeremy Pinso, CTM and Richard A. Gontusan, DTM. Richard was embarking on his second round of C & L Speeches, starting with the Ice Breaker, which Gerald labelled as a model speech.

Chong Tzu Jiun, CTM was adjudged the Most Improved Table Topics Speaker, Abu Bakar as the Best Dressed Gentleman and TM Joanna Lim as the Best Dressed Lady.

It was a fun-filled and educational evening for everyone, more so with the presence of the special guest, Gerald Green. Some members could not get enough of him during the meeting, and invited him to a teh-tarik session to get him to share more about his Toastmasters experience with them.
