Labuan Toastmasters Club's Buka Puasa

Members and families of the Labuan Toastmasters Club gathered for Buka Puasa at Sara Hotel on 8 November 2004. The function was also held as a way to say THANK YOU to the members and their families for supporting the recent Division K 9th Semi Annual Convention, which led to its success.
The club fully subsidised the function. We had a lot of laughter talking about the convention, which we closed with an evaluation instead of a post mortem. We believe that using the term “evaluation” is more appropriate because it means “what went right and what are the areas of improvement, while “post mortem” means “what went wrong, full stop.” In Toastmasters it is only proper to use the magic term “evaluation.”

The club made a surplus from organising the convention. The club will now pay for the accommodation of all its members attending the Division K 9th Annual Convention, which will be held in Kota Kinabalu, from 19 to 20 March 2004. It is also a way to encourage members to PURSUE EXCELLENCE, in keeping with the presidential theme.
