Tenom Mandarin Toastmasters Club's 7th Installation Dinner


4 September 2004, the Tenom Mandarin Toastmasters Club staged its 7th Installation Dinner at the Yun Lee Restaurant in Tenom. It was attended by about 70 guests, including the Guest of Honour, Division K Governor Richard A. Gontusan, DTM. Among the guests was the Kapitan Cina of Tenom, Mr Wong Tai Min.
The installation event received strong support from members of the Kota Kinabalu Mandarin Toastmasters Club, the Kota Kinabalu Toastmasters Club and the Keningau Mandarin Toastmasters Club led by their presidents, Wong Phong Yun, CL, John Liew, ATM-B and Chong Nyuk Chu, CTM respectively.

In this speech, which was partly delivered in Mandarin, the GOH praised the Area K3 Governor, Justin Chong, ATM-G, for reviving the club. He urged the club to forge ahead to remain a vibrant club in the heartland of Sabah.

The new Executive Committee 2004/2005 led by its President, Ng Tet Hau, CTM, was installed into office by the Area K3 Governor, Justin Chong, ATM-G. President Ng succeeded the Immediate Past President, TM Chung Kim Loong.

The evening ended with Karaoke singing by the guests. It was successful dinner. In the words of one of the visitors, TM Cheah Chay Tiong, the VPPR of University Toastmasters Club, the dinner has class and good taste.
